Podcast Production
and Branded Content

Broadcast You now offers podcast production to round out its suite of digital services.

Our first clients are Campbell Ewald, producing Season Five of OnStar’s flagship podcast Tell Me What Happened and Bloomberg Media/Vertex Targeting the Toughest Diseases.

Tell Me What Happened

An OnStar Podcast

Tell Me What Happened features “true stories of people making a difference.  When the unimaginable happens, strangers step up and help save the day.”

The show is hosted by Dr. Torah Kachur. She is the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) Radio One national science columnist and a contract lecturer at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. Each week on CBC, Torah explains the latest and greatest science news stories and gets to talk about everything from white blood cells to black holes. She is now the passionate and adventurous host of Tell Me What Happened.

Season Five also assembled much of the original team that created and launched the series in 2021. The production team includes Executive Producer Jeff Blundell, Sound Designer Gaëtan Harris, and Producer Marshall Whitsed.

Targeting the Toughest Diseases

Bloomberg Media Studios/Vertex

Bloomberg Media Studios has asked Broadcast You to update episodes of Vertex’s Targeting The Toughest Diseases.  As Vertex’s research and science evolves, it is important to them to have their stories reflect this evolution in their content.

“Targeting the Toughest Diseases looks at some of humanity’s most challenging diseases and how Vertex is using innovative tools, methods and a unique philosophy to search for treatments and cures.”

The show is hosted by Jordan Gass-Pooré,  a New York City-based podcast producer and investigative journalist with more than a decade of journalism experience. Jordan is a graduate of Texas State University and City, University of London. Her work has been published in various outlets throughout the US and UK, including NPR, the Guardian and The Times.

We are excited to share the stories of some of the patient’s lives they touch as they continue their groundbreaking research to offer the best in patient care.

How Branded Podcasts Work,
And Why Sometimes They Don’t.

Branded podcasts are a unique animal in the world of creating your own content. Many people read blogs and watch videos while at work, but podcasts are almost exclusively a media of choice during personal time. 'Walking the dog' and 'exercising' are two of the most common times to listen to podcasts. That means you are reaching people when they are relaxed, curious, and open to new ideas. But that also means your show needs to match their mood.

Podcasts that are heavy on information and facts come across as too heavy. They are a chore to listen to. Podcasts built around fascinating stories, intriguing characters, and funny tidbits are much better received.

As with other forms of in-house content, the less you talk about yourself, the better. You don’t want to be the person that shows up at a dinner party and only talks about themselves. Worse yet, don’t be the person trying to convince the other guests to join your multi-level marketing scheme while they just want to enjoy their meal.

Be genuine and talk about things your audience is already interested in.

Hyper-specific podcasts that appeal directly to your desired niche are often the most successful. This applies whether you are selling drones, curing diabetes, or offering partial ownership in rental properties. A well-made, well-positioned podcast will reach people with the perfect message at just the right moment. Those people, after eagerly consuming the content, will become your super-fans, and ultimately your best customers.

The podcast division of Broadcast You is spearheaded by Executive Producer Jeff Blundell.

Jeff is a pioneer in the world of Branded Content Podcasts. In 2016, when the genre was still in its infancy, he produced the award-winning series “Decoding Genius” for General Electric. Since then, he has created podcasts for OnStar, Facebook, BMW, and CBS Television.

His American history series “Bring Back Bronco” combines the stories of OJ Simpson, Martin Luther King, and Ford’s iconic off-road truck. The result was a smash hit that boosted demand for the 2021 model and changed the way Ford creates content. His latest creation, “Inside the Breakthrough” for the biotech company ‘SciMar,’ is a quirky look at how science and innovation has evolved over the centuries.

About Broadcast You

Broadcast You started as a video production company. We quickly realized that once we created videos for our clients, they often struggled with how to implement them in an effective marketing strategy.

Broadcast You now covers all aspects of digital marketing from social media management, podcasts, PPC sales funnels, video production, graphic design, sales automations, CRM, lead nurturing and more.

Broadcast You is owned by Jenn Sunerton. Jenn started in broadcast journalism for Discovery Channel and other major broadcasters. She became curious about how traditional television would survive the internet. Her curiosity led her down the rabbit hole of digital marketing and Broadcast You was born.
